Meerlanden is a waste processor with a large, green heart embracing the circular chain. They don’t regard waste as waste, but as a raw material from which they can make beautiful compost, among other things. Compost that they then give away to those participating in the Vegetable Garden Day.
How do you encourage people to properly separate their waste? Everyone knows that it has to be done, but it often remains a concept rather than a reality. Meerlanden, don’t call themselves a ‘raw materials director’ for nothing. They are able to make something spectacular out of waste. Our task, to show the world what they can do, with a view to stimulating action and appealing to a wider audience.
Rather than telling people they must separate their waste, or sharing the Meerlanden story, we decided to create a film. And a fun film at that. We wanted to show the enjoyable side of tending to a vegetable garden, and Meerlanden’s role in this process. It’s all about creating something inspirational, engaging the audience and inspiring them to get involved!
Vegetable Garden Day became a week-long campaign, due to popular demand. A fantastic result – and one that we hope to improve on.
