Solve physical and digital puzzles to get out. We built a mobile Escape Room for a client. In a lorry, so that it can be used at multiple locations. In a lorry, so that it can be used at multiple locations. The Escape Room includes a number of ‘cash machines’ that the users have to solve puzzles with. The challenge was thinking up something in which the players could solve a puzzle on a cashpoint machine.

Solution

We installed special apps that we had developed on integrated iPads. We fitted an iPad into each machine so that it would look like a real ‘hole in the wall’.

Implementation

The puzzles were built using React Native. Because there is not always an Internet connection in the Escape Room, the apps had to be developed so that they could also be played offline. On top of that, the apps had ‘secret’ features that allowed the game leader to control the games, behind the screens.
